Blog post two week plan

Goal #1 Find 5 organizations to talk about, plug their website find opportunities to participate in.

My First Goal was to find homeless organizations in the Worcester area and find valuable information about what they are trying to do to help. I successfully found 5 Homeless organizations. A variety of Homeless shelters, Veteran homes, and Christian non-profit serves. I successfully completed my first goal and found information about each organization. The one I picked that I would be interested in helping is the Catholic charities in Worcester. In the past, I have already helped out with a 5k event they do at the veteran's home. Every year people show up donate money and run a 5k for the Veterans of Worcester. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wrjNQsx8wlX-8YhuL7PH1gapJ7FSZe7zBIjDF0FsZ_0/edit?usp=sharing

My #2 goal was to post twice a week once on Thursday, once next Thursday. get to 40 followers, comment on someone's post. I successfully posted each Thursday below will be evidence of my post on Instagram. The other small goal inside this big goal was to get to 40 followers. I reached that goal with a following of 45 followers this week. The last mini goal was to comment on a classmate's Instagram post, interact with their page. I commented on my classmate Christina Kennedy's post.

My #3 goal was to give valuable information about the Worcester area. Stats about how many people are homeless. I successfully completed this goal by posting valuable information about Worcester country and the number of homeless people living on the streets. On my Instagram page, I made a post about how many homeless people were living on the streets and how they got there. I talked about how covid increased the number of Homeless people because they weren't working they couldn't pay for rent. My Instagram evidence will be at the end of the blog post.

My #4 goal was to elaborate on the mass and Cass situation in Dorchester. The second week of the two-week plan I posted on Instagram about the situation. How in Dorchester when covid struck it destroyed people because they were out of their jobs. This meant they couldn't pay for their apartments. The landlords kicked them to the curb with all their belonging with them. These people took this action into their hands and set up tents outside on the street. Becoming part of the homeless population. The governor of Boston had people go to their tent homes and rip them down causing them to become extremely vulnerable.

  • What do you think about your choices in goals for this plan? Were they realistic and appropriate?
My teacher Mr. Welty pushed me to select harder goals for myself. It paid off because I learned a lot about my nearby community with Worcester and the Homeless population.  I think my choices well reflected my topic and what I'm trying to reach. All of my goals were reached and were realistic and appropriate. I learned a lot this week from the four goals I picked for myself.
  • What was your biggest achievement for this plan?
My biggest achievement of this two-week plan was having a scheduled posting time. I successfully met this goal for myself. The goal was to post twice this week every Thursday. This is a big achievement because I was held accountable to post on those certain days. Giving me a set amount of time to figure out what I wanted to show my followers on Instagram.
  • What are some ways you can continue to improve on your development of these goals?
One way I can improve is by finding other ways to challenge myself with my topic of homeless people. Getting my hands dirty and getting involved with my research. Developing the goals ahead of time so I have time to process what I want to do in my two-week plan.
